Gyeongju

I am going to visit Gyeongju city.

The weather is getting chilly but still good to travel this Gyeongbuk province.

Gyeongju is one of the place I‘ve heard so many times about great thing from my friends.

So finally I get to visit here!

I really expect lots of things.

This trip was with Ben.

I was more exciting because I had a company who enjoy with me.

Walking to the street I found big building.

It was an arboretum.

Inside the building, there are many things to see and learn about trees, environment and ecological system.

My friend Sam is the first time to look around Gyeongbuk area.

He liked here already.

Ben and I were took some picture near there and got out if the building.

This beautiful road also glowed with autumn colors.

Every time I see these maple trees, I thought it is wonderful
!

Next, Sam and I decided to head for Bulguk-sa temple.

Perhaps one of the most photographed sites in Korea, this staircase forms two "bridges," built separately, but collectively designated National Treasure #23.

We took a picture before go into
Bulguk-sa.

Sam was very curious about
Bulguk-sa, and I explained a bit that I study before came here.

Look! This great maple tree!

It was so beautiful.
The sky was totally blue and clear!

We walked into the main gate. We saw the entrance as called “ChunWangmun”.

Inside of the gate there are 4 gatekeepers that look really scary.

In Korea, if you scary when you see this you are guilty.

I explained about it.

He strongly denied but still had a scared look.

Ha
Ha it was so fun.

An old path up the hillside leads the visitor to a broad stairway known as the
Sokgyemun--the traditional entrance to the grounds.

The first stairway is thirty-three steps high and ends at
Jahamun (Mauve Mist Gate).

The lower portion is called
Cheongungyo (Blue Cloud Bridge) and the upper is Baegungyo (White Cloud Bridge).

An interesting detail is the continuous slab of granite dividing each stairway in half.

Both stairways have been reconstructed with the original stones.

In the courtyard behind Daeung Jeon stands Munseol Jeon (Hall of No Words), a large hall used for giving lectures on the sutras.

The name "No Word" comes from the belief that it is impossible to express the essence of Buddha's teachings simply through language. One of the temple's oldest buildings, Grand Master U-sang first taught here around 670.

In front of
Daeung Jeon there are The Dabotap (Many Treasure Pagoda) and Seokgatap (Sakyamuni Pagoda).

Ben took a picture in front of Dabotop.

Dabotap
Pagoda and Seokgatap Pagoda (Sakyamuni pagoda) (Bulguksa Temple's three-story stone pagoda, National Treasure No. 21) are the two representative pagodas in Korea.

The height of the two is the same of 10.4m.

The two pagodas stand facing each other at the yard, one in the east and the other in the west, between Hall of
Sakyamuni and Jahamun Gate in Bulguksa Temple.

He one in the east is Dabotap Pagoda. This pagoda is a representative special-type pagoda.

Seokgatap Pagoda (Sakyamuni pagoda) a representative general-type stone pagoda.

The reason of building the two pagodas at the same site is to follow the content of
Beophwagyeong (the Lotus Sutra) that the 'past Buddha' Dabo Buddha is standing beside the 'present Buddha' Sakyamuni to prove that his Buddhist sermon is right.

Seeing this kind of national treasure, I am also pretty much enjoying myself.

Ben really liked that Korea traditional old house. The way they look and color and very vivid and fantastic.

Here is beautiful Korea’s autumn. Enjoy.!

Next visit place is Bomun resort where is very famous spot for family and couple.

This Bomunho lake is located below the old fortress of Myonhwal-san, east of Gyeongju.

The area around the lake has many high-class hotels, recreational and entertainment facilities, shopping areas, restaurants, and G
yeongju World amusement park.

The scenery around the lake offers beautiful views of cherry blossoms in the springtime.

During windy days, the falling blossoms look almost like snow
.

The Bomun Outdoor Performance Hall offers periodic performances of traditional dance and music near a five-story hexagonal pagoda.

Although many different periods are represented, the local 1,000-year long
Shilla culture dominates.

There is also the Bomun Lake Resort is a large tourist complex around Bomun Lake in the city of Gyeongju South, Korea.

The resort covers the districts of
Bomun-dong, Sinpyeong-dong, Amgok-dong and Cheongun-dong.

It is situated under the ruin of the old fortress on
Myeonghwal mountain, 6.5 km east of the central Gyeongju and faces Toham Mountain.

It provides lodging, eatery, recreation and sports facilities in the city.

Time went so fast. We almost forgot to eat. We were so hungry..

We found 1 Korean restaurant.

Ben and I like Korean food very much.

Since I got in here If I have any chance to try Korean food I did it everything.

Most of dish is new for us. We just said wow…wow…wow,,

Look! So many dishes and isn’t it look delicious?

Actually we worried that there were too many food.

We didn’t want to left.

After finish our lunch, We were so full..

When I get up I feel like couldn’t walk…
haha

A lunch was really great!!

I wish I could eat this at my home.

There is pine tree forest.

It call
Samreung.

The tree was just amazing! So great and I can’t even imagine how old are they?

A Gyeongju is going to continued next week…

Coming soon…
