Cheong Song

The new season has come without anyone realizing it in S. Korea. At End of Fall, I head to Cheong Song.

It's famous for its scenic beauty green and clear nature so it means spirit's world in Korean.

I’d like to introduce fall in Gyeongsangbuk-do before changing their weather fall to winter.

When I was reached in Cheong Song, I went to Jusanji Pond, has been 300 years old and good to sight of sunrise.

While walking to there, I can see superb natural landscape, Mt. Juwangsan, called nature walking road so I can get some information from educational facilities about natural phenomenon around the road.

It's so interesting and amusing time to Jusanji pond for that path.

Walking on the road with autumn colors makes me happy and excite.

Not for a while along that path, I can see the Jusanji pond.

It has been water for agricultural use in the remote past in Korea. It is a 100m long, 50m wide and 8m deep small pond in Mt. Juwangsan National Park. Since it was constructed, it has never dried up even during the severest drought.

So many people has depended on it. Now, It's the picture of Jusanji pond.

It is famous and huge willow trees grew up in that pond. It is one of the good place to take a photo.

Now, Let's see the Beauty of Jusanji pond.

It's huge willow trees with wet fog at Jusanji pond. It's so beautiful, isn't it?

What a wonderful sight ,It is only Cheong Song Jusanji pond.

Autumn, It's looks like that Mt. Juwang's star stone are looking at me which was a dragon ascends to heaven with autumn colors according to a legend.

I think it's the sole gift that can made by nature Blue sky and grand forest.

While looking at that trees, It's sunlight to knowing that morning in Jusanji above the ridges.

After taking beauty and happy time of all things, I walked to famous Dalgi Mineral Spring in Cheong Song.

As soon as reaching it, I couldn't wait to taste it and I took a cup of water in a hurry.

It was Mineral Spring Water that the most of unique I ever had and cool and piquant.
After taking this water, It's past to have breakfast.

Just at that time, There are a lot of famous restaurant for a so we can choose and entered one.

The manager recommended Korean chicken boiled with rice were ordered by many people and good for these days.

He said the all of food they made were base with mineral water, so it's good to health and take a lot.

Actually that food were a little bit unusual but tasty.

Especially, It made with medicinal herbs so it was meaty and soft. Plus the baked chicken with spicy seasoning was good to eat. At the end, It made me forgot how much I take.

When we wake up after taking a tasty food, That manager gave a mineral water good for digest.
because of overeating, I had a cool cup of water.

It helped to take my step forward with warm hearted.

I'd like to know about Cheong song after eating, I head to Cheong Song Folklore Museum.

As soon as step in to entry, there was jangseung, Korean traditional totem pole at the village entrance.

It is a border line and road sign between town, and guard of villages.

Looking around inner museum, I thought it's good to know details about the life of Korean ancestor and Cheong Song's features.

After seeing that for a while, I came out for looking display in outside of museum.

I here were Jumaks sold for drinks with foods, house for traveler, mill belated rice with power of fallen water.

It was leaded water from the mountain, and many people worked together and exchanged some information at here.

Seeing display, I can met a wide, and fair theatre for youth at back of it by chance.

I left sculpture of apples behind, and head to Mt. Juwang designated a 12th Korean National park called the best of mountain in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

It had been called SeokByungSan because it looks like set up a screen by stone before.

According to concerned parties, It had registered as 2th Korean National park on Mar. 24, 1976 and It's own ancient figure has been for 5 billion years.
Facing the grand and fine view by Mt.Juwang, I stared blankly in front of that, not knowing what to say next.

If time let me allow, I could enjoy that scenery but there was not enough time. so I should have to change my steps.

Next place is a produce distribution center for famous apple you should have taste it when you come in Cheong Song.

when I just alive, I felt apples tempting me with their sweet smell.

It make a boast of their beauty in front of me to all of fresh apples.

Why don't you try it ? It looks good, doesn't it?

Sweet apple's scent I'll make you happy.

Fortunately, I could take an apple thanks to owner.

Taking a bite out of an apple, It's best of taste I had before, I couldn't incommensurable with the others.

It was Cheong Song to interesting and meaningful trip with green, pure, beauty of Gyeongsangbuk-do at end of autumn .

I'd like to invite you.

Gyeongju

Like last week I will go for a Gyeongju.

I and Ben went to Gyeongju national museum. Ben wanted to know more about Gyeongju’s history.

Gyeongju National Museum is the essence of the Silla culture in general with 2,500 artifacts including the prehistoric relics and the Buddhist artifacts on display and 80,000 in storage.

In 1910 a group of Gyeongju residents formed the Silla Gyeongju Society in an effort to preserve historic sites and relics in and around Gyeongju.

It was expanded and renamed the Gyeongju Historical Association in 1913 at which time it made an old Joseon period government guest house into an exhibition hall for displaying relics.

In the Main Hall you can see earthenware, and in the Arts and Crafts room you can see various artwork and craftwork.

Gukeun Memorial Hall exhibits 666 artifacts, which are the personal collection of Dr. Lee Yang-Seon, donated to the museum for preservation purposes.

Artifacts from the great tombs of the city of Gyeongju are exhibited in Annex I, the Gobun Gallery.

There are many glittering accessories, such as golden crowns, crown ornaments, belts, earrings etc.

The other galleries exhibit household goods.

These various types of items show life in the Royal Court during the Silla Period.

There is also a variety of artifacts from royal palaces and temples exhibited here.

The exhibits we saw consisted mainly of different kinds of Korean art (mainly ancient local art),
pottery, weaponry, civilization, models, etc.

After the galleries, we moved on to the Outdoor Exhibit Area, which is the Museum Grounds and Chunma chong.

We took a picture on the way to Chunmachong.

Chunmachong room exhibits artifacts related to the production of earthenware, ironware and bronze ware.

In addition to weaponry and horse fittings and clay figurines excavated from the stone-piled double coffin tombs.

This room also exhibit clay human figures, figures of the twelve horary signs and jar coffins and bone reliquires of cremation burials excavated from the late Shilla dolbang mudeom or stonechamber tombs.

Another room exhibit some of the most highly prized treasures from the late Dr.Guguen, Lee Yang-Seon’s collection 666 cultural objects dating from the prehistoric to Goryeo period.

The tombs are very roundly so we took a more pictures.

Then we moved on Chumsungdae.

Chumsungdae is ancient observatory.

ChumSungDae is an observatory in Silla. It is made of a stone and its height is 9.17 meters.

Many people visit here to see this traditional observatory.

It is the oldest observatory in the world and it used to see stars in the sky.

Since the time is getting over 4pm, we started to hungry a little.

So we head for Whangnam bread bakery.
Whangnam bread is The family owned Hwangnam Bakery claims to produce the original ones dating back to 1939 made by Choi Yeong-hwa.

Hwangnam bread is handmade and this process can be observed right behind the cashier counter.

A dozen people are standing at several tables with a huge chunk of red bean paste in front of them filling the pastry.

It was quite impressing and well worth a visit.

You will definitely taste that they are handmade.

Ben and I were eat at there and bought it one box more.

This Gyeongju trip is more exciting cause I was with my buddy Ben.

Gyeongju is one of the best palce to trip in autumn season and I would like to visit here when my family come next summer.

I am sure they will love it!
