Blue and clean tour place Youngdeok Sunrise Park , Ganggu harbor

Next year is just on the corner~

I wanted to see a sea and some more quite place in this month.
I start to visit Youngdeok Sunrise Park at first.

There is a wind power generation farm.

Lots of thing (looks like windmill) was circling in the huge yard.
The park is well organized with wild flowers, hiking paths, observation decks, resting places, and reeds.

I found Youngdeok new and recycling energy exhibition.

The entrance fee was 1,500won.
I could see many of interesting energy source that wind power, sun power, hydrogen energy etc.. a lot of kids was here for education.

This room is for foot bath for tourist.

Little kid was bathing foor into the hot water.

No one can slam the ball through the hoop due to the wind under the net. 

Business hour is 9:00am-6:00pm and every Monday is closed.

This is sunrise campsite~
There are capsule camplingsite and general campingsite and camping car site.

Because of TV show capsule house is the most popular campingsite.

This is the ondolbang(room with the Korean floor heating system)

The room is neat and clean.
They have everything in this small room such as TV, refrigelator, bed, air-conditioner..

After campingsite we were so starving so we head for the restaurant for SASIMI~~~

Wow!! Look at this halibut fish.
It was so fresh ~

Actually I love this soup(Maeun-tang0 after sasimi~ So spicy but it was great.

Ganggu harbor~ Youngdeok king crab is the most famouse local product.

The street was lined with crab restraunt.

This is the original Youdeok King crab.

King crab was qiute expensive. It was 150,000~200,000 won.
That bracelet was the mark to proove that is the original crab!
Since the quite pricy price I decide to eat it sometime next time~ 
On the way to back home I found one bridge which looks pretty new.

There is a transperlate floor on the middle of bridge.

Donghae(East coast) sea was very clean ~

The wind keeps blowing hard and the waves were crashing strongly.

I stared at the waves in silence for a while.
It seems to be gone with all the complicated thoughts.
I felt refresh and good after Youngdeok trip today.
Why don’t you come and feel in Youngdeok’s great smell~

Train travel – Gyeongbuk circular theme tour train

I am going to trip to Gyeongbuk province by train this week~

I took a train from Seoul station but not a fancy KTX.
They called it “ Mugunhwa” ~
People say Saemaeul – Mugunghwa- Tongli train before the KTX.
 

This is the Seoul station. There are lots of people as always..

I was very hungry.. Had a bowl of rice topped with pork ~

The train leaves from Dongdaegu Station on 8:50AM every day and travels on 4 train routes that pass through North Gyeongsang Province and Daegu while making stops at 17 stations.

The train makes 2 runs a day.
In the train there are different theme rooms as PR room for local product, wine café and event room.

I did smell some local product food in this room.

It would be more fun if your friend have birthday on that day.

There was Karaoke machine in front of the seat. Lol
Korean love to sing everywhere~ in the train? Hell yeh~

If I have more company, I would drink with them in here~

This compartment people was dancing and drinking.

They looks like having a great time~This is Hwabone station. The station looks remind me one of the Japan train station.

I and my buddy were in Shinla room which is room for rest.

We had a box lunch that we already made and watched a movie with my laptop.
Since we were in the train for 6 hours, we brought lot of munchies. It was good thing we did.

 I downloaded a couple of movies and enjoy it in the train with these food box and munchies.

A whole schedules was Seoul-Dongdaegu-Youngju-Kimcheon-Seoul.
If you sick of the traffic jam and drive, train travel is the best choice~

Gyeongbuk is certainly beautiful in the fall and winter with so many activities going on this would be one of those family trips where it's exciting all the time.

Or it would be good for a romantic trip.
I took KTX when I came back to Seoul.

KT X was much comfortable than Mugunghwa but luss fun. 

Seoul station’s night view was quite pretty.

I think Korea train system is great and comfortable.
I might will go to somewhere with train when 2012, Jan 1 to see the first sunset~

Andong City Tour

Andong is a city in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, South Korea. It is the largest city in the northern part of the province with a population of 167,821 in October 2010.
The Nakdong River flows through the city. Andong is a market centre for the surrounding agricultural areas.
Andong is known as a centre of culture and folk traditions.
The surrounding area maintains many ancient traditions, so in mid October the Andong Folk Festival is held every year.
One of the most famous aspects of these cultural festivities are the Andong masks.

Today, I am going to visit Andong city with one-day tour program.
There is a bus which take me to the famous place ~
I didn't have to worry about time and transportation ...
It was very simple and easy trip.

There are two different courses that one is Dosan seowon, another one is Hahoe village course. I took a Hahoe village course. This is the bus I took all day.

On the way to Buyoungdae.

Buyoungsae cliff ; you can overlook Hahoe village and Nakdong river.
It takes about 5 minutes to get cliff walk along the woods.

It is very clear and fresh today.

A tour guide said this tree is more than 400 years old.. Wow~

After Buyoungdae cliff ,we head for Byeongsan seowon.

ByeongsanSeowon was established in 1563 near the village of Pungsanhyeon and given the name Pungak Seodang. The relocation took place in the fifth year of the reign of King Seonjo (1572) by Ryu Seongryong with the purpose to train disciples .

Like most institutions, Byeongsan Seowon was established by local scholars and supported by sympathetic members of the local community.

The Seowon was largely autonomous from the government and around the time of 1863, Confucian schools enjoyed many freedoms under the Joseon rule, students and scholars of the school were free from taxation, conscription, labor duties and other expenses.

Initiated the tradition at private academies of enshrining departed Confucian scholars whose lives were worthy of emulation. Someon told me that Korea does not have garden culture. It's from Japan I have heard.

Before we go the Hahoe village, it was break time.

This is the famous Andong mackerel with seasoning source.
Fish was so delicious!! With this seasoning source makes the taste better.
It was 18,000 won for 2 people.

This is the bus from the ticket box to enterance of Hahoe village.

We had to change the bus. Our city tour bus could not get in front of village.

Andong Hahoe Village has preserved the housing architecture and the village structure of the Joseon Dynasty. Moreover, the village was not artificially created; there are people who actually live there.

Three sides of Hahoe Village (Important Folk Material No.122) is surrounded by the Nakdong River. Because the river swirls around the village, the village is named Hahoe, and is also called the spinning river village. 

These are Korean traditional totem pole at the village entrance.

The village was very quite.

Maybe because of the weather there were not many tourists.
These looks Japanese tourist.

The area is a well-preserved example of a typical clan village from the Joseon Dynasty days. But what’s unusual about Hahoe is how the aristocratic yangban class and commoners lived together. The largest homes are located at the center of the village, which is divided by a road stretching northeast and southwest.

Thers is a name Bukchon-da다 that has 72 rooms and you can stay if you want.

Bukchon house has still lighting the kitchen fire like an old fashion. You can book with this website.

This zelkova tree is more than 600 years.. the guide told me.
This tree is also using when village people hold a memorial service for theirs ancestors.

There is a wish fence around a tree.
People was writing theirs wishes and hang in there.

Here, people make this gate as follow geomancy.

When I stand the middle of the door, I can see the highest of mountain.
Yangjin-dang, the representative house of Yangban (the upper class of old Korea)
This Yangjin-dang shows the mix style building of Koryo dynasty and Chosun dynasty.
It is also designated a treasure No.306.

This is a memorial tree when the queen of England visited here a long time ago.

If it is summer , it would have been great. Actually that day was a little cold.

I could know people actually are living here when I saw this a small field.

Super chubby cat~ A guide said this cats are eatting Andong markerel every day.

That's why they are very chubby. haha. what a healthy cat ~ lol.
Hahoe village was great place to know Korea very well.
But I couldn't see the mask performance due to winter season.
I was a little upset..

Going for Hanji (traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry trees) factory.

He is the order of this factory~ and inside look.

This process is how they are making Hanji.Wow.. this is not a simply work and it is going to be a good educate for a kids.

There are beautiful papers from handmade works.You can join to the experience of dyeing when you pay 2,000 won.Hanji factory was the last tour place of the day trip.

Then we came back to the Andong express bus terminal.
This city tour is quite simple and interesting. If you don't have much time and don't know where to go, I highly recommend this bus tip~
But I guess spring or autumn season will be better~:)
