Let’s go “Cheongdo”

I am going to Gyeongbuk province where is the one of the great places as named “Cheongdo” today.

It is connected to the national transportation grid by the Gyeongbu Line railroad and the Daegu-Busan Expressway.

The street looks very quiet and clean. The weather was little blur but not cold.

The signs guide visitors at places.

I saw some Buddhist monk in the field. They were working on a farm.
There are 260 Buddhist monks this area. Somebody told me.

Here is Unmun-sa temple’s sign.

Unmun-sa Temple is one of Korea's major temples and it is situated on Tiger Mountain.

This is the gate of Unmun-sa.This is the inside of view. The temple was quiet and peaceful.

Some temple was under construction.

There is weeping fine tree. This tree was designate as a natural monument 180.

Little pine tree is so pretty. Isnt it?

This is about Weeping red pine tree.

 This bell called
Chungdong bell Its huge.

Very peaceful and make me feel quiet.

 Look, there are Buddhist monks.

They chanted a Buddhist prayer. I didn’t understand what they were saying, but I am sure something good wish everyone~

Wow , This is very big and splendid statue of the Buddha.

This colorful roof was so beautiful .

These are monks shoes.

Beautiful garden~

This is souvenir shop. There was lots of stuff that I have never seen before.

I could see Buddhist rosary and key holder. It was interesting.

Spring is coming. I am sure that if the weather is warm there will be lots of flower and trees as well.

It’s going to be nice ~

I choose the restaurant where looks the oldest one. There were many fish restaurants.

There was very special menu it called Bing fish. And it is fried. People say this location is the best for this fish.

Here is the restaurant’s table and chair. It looks bungalow.~

This is inside of restaurant. It was so like a KOREA…. Which is nice and beautiful.

We ordered fish stew.. um… It was spicy but soup was very good.

This is side dishes. All the vegetable and Kimchi was so delicious.

This is spring parsley
.
A taste was very special.

This is fish stew. It was very good!! But hot! Haha.

After lunch we went Cheongdo Wine Tunnel, which is basically a wine cellar built into an abandoned railway tunnel.
Here is also famous for TV drams shooting spot.

The wine made and sold at the wine tunnel is not from grapes, but persimmons.

The manager told me 90% of the persimmons grown in Korea are from Cheongdo and there are trees bearing the fruit all over the city.

This picture is the inside of the tunnel. There is pretty light and persimmon scent~~

It is funny photo zone.

This is wine café.

Here, Gam wine is made of a local produce, Cheongdo flat seedless persimmons, and is a wine that has the full aroma, taste, and nutrition of fresh persimmons.

The manager told me that no matter which season, country, many customer visit here to taste this wine all year. I could learn how to storage, how to ripen to look exhibition.

It
s very nice to go out with date. The entire place was very romantic.

This wine does not add any alcohol it is made from 100% persimmon which is fermented with a special enzyme and is ripened for more than a year.

Here was very quaint and romantic little town with frosty permission trees all over the place.

The light was so fantastic. Even in the day, it was like a night.

Why don’t you try a new world wine and peaceful place in Gyeongbuk cheongdo?

Seongju

The sky is high and blue. A fresh air and the warm autumn sunshine…
Right now, this is the perfect time to go on a trip.

In order to show a beautiful Korea’s season, I am traveling all around Gyeongsangbuk-do.

I am going to “Seongju” where is famous for long history and stunning nature.

The weather was more than perfect to trip today.

I visited the one of the popular travel spot “ Hangae” village.
Hangae is well preserved traditional village.

I found a big rock ‘Hangae village’ written by Korean’ under the big tree.

Hangae Village in Seongju County, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, has developed into a historic community of the Yi clan hailing from Seongsan over the past 560 years since Yi U first settled here in the 15th century.

The “Hangae” means big stream which was located in front of entrance of village.

I went into the village and I saw large field. The field is carpeted with gold color.

The color was very pretty.

I was very curious inside of village so I walked very fast.

This is the ‘Hangae village’ autumn look.

The landscape was very quiet and peaceful. This is ‘Donjaeigong Sindobi’ tombstone.

This tombstone was specially produced by Leesulmoon.

The first old house that I saw was the biggest old house,’Bukbigotaek’.
Shell we go inside.

As you can see the picture, there is beautiful garden. The green grass in front of me was very calm and nice.

This picture is also great garden. Here is very calm and peaceful. Isn't it?

This picture is inside of house.

Here is one of the old tradition houses that well-preserved in Gyeongbuk.

This house house also lived the high class people as like "Bukbigotaek"

The Hangae village has been designated as an important culture property.

There were 2 different place separately.

Sarangche was living the master man and Anche was living the woman.

There was some gender discrimination.

Also there was the intention to protect women and yet to confine them at the same time.

This beautiful autumn picture is around of Hangae village.

There are four seasons in a year in Korea and autumn is my best season!!

There are four seasons in a year in Korea and autumn is my best season!!

I would like to visit here next year too. It was very clean and great place in my memory.

I walked about 5 minutes and found ‘Sejongdaewangjataesil’.

The placenta jars of King Sejong’s 18 sons (legitimate and illegitimate) and grandson Danjong are buried in a group on the top of Taebong peak, just below Mt.Seonseoksan in Wolhang-myeon, Seongju-gun.

The placenta jars were placed here some time between 1438 (20th year of King Sejong) and 1442.

The placenta jars of the sons of King Sejong are important in studying such structures of the early Joseon Dynasty.

Next I moved to Seongju hyanggyo.

It’s the Confucian temple and school to teach local students in the Joseon Dynasty period. This hyanggyo was established in 1398.

Educational facilities including a lecture hall called Myeongnyundang are in the west and shrine facilities including the main shrine called Daeseongjeon and two minor shrines are in the east.

This Hyanggyo look dignified.

Here is very slience and I feel like I can study very well if I study this place.
I would read a book in here with fresh and clear sky.

There is a mountain fortress wall at the top of the mountain and about seventies tombs of Seongsangaya were scattered around.

The inner structure with the height 3.6m and the diameter 13.6m seemed to be front-open stone chamber tomb with horizontal digging style.

This is grave. For grave it was quite good looking.
As you can see the pix there are big and small graves. It’s all 129.

This grave is very huge and great. I moved to the forest.it’s called ‘Sungbak woods’.

This place was also famous and popular.

This forest was very close from Seongjuseongsandonggobungun.
A willow is about 300~500 years old. And these kinds of big trees are 59. WOW!!

I got in the forest.

I saw big rock. A ‘sungbaksoup’ was embedded on a stone.

I was enjoying the picturesque scenery.

I also saw many people who is jogging with relaxed face.

Next place is ‘oriental melon ecology .

Sungju is the famous city for oriental melon.

Geoja Mineral Water Festival takes place at the foot of Gaya Mountains, the spiritual mountain of the people, featuring various scenic views and food varieties.

Since I like oriental melon a lot , I really would like to visit here.

I could get to know about origin of oriental melon, history, farming equipment.

I also saw the food made by oriental melon. The reason why this oriental melon ecology study center was built was that they want to introduce all about Seongju chamoe.

Here is inside of the building.

Inside is well-organized to get good information about oriental melon.

There is very useful information about kind of oriental melon, method of cultivation, how to enjoy and how to storage etc…

This is a valuable history date related to oriental melon.

Seongju province is very exciting place to see and eat!And with perfect autumn weather I really enjoyed to take a look this place.

If I have a kid I would like to visit here again with my family.

The most I like thing is peaceful, calm and neat area.

Why don’t you take a trip this beautiful Seongju province!
