Daegaya Festival

I went to Daegaya Festival in 2011.

This festival has been held since 2005 for increase people’s interest.

See?

There are English interpreters.

We could get so much information from them.

It was much easier to enjoy this festival.

People were playing rock-paper-scissors.

When you win you can get balloon.

I could take a look at the life and play of the people of Daegaya at Goryeong.

Little kids were really enjoying with many various events.

This is a fishing game.

I can’t miss the food corner in the festival.

A food is the most exciting part when I take a part this kind of festival!
Wow I really liked that Korean pancake’s smell.

With a Korea rice wine ~
Yum! Yum~!

This is the place I can get to know about real Korea.

Look at those foods!

Even though I could not try everything I really enjoyed it.!!

Weather was also very warm and I could feel breezy wind.

I could see this kind of fountain with exciting music.

Here is the main entrance for Daegaya life experience area.

There is also English information for foreigner.

Here is a room made by “Iron”.

Daegaya was well-known as iron a long time ago.

There is playing animation on TV.

Kids were playing in the water play area.

There was a singing contest and dance performance.

There are lots of accommodations for guest.

It looks hut house.

Here is Dargaya Pottery event.
A man was making pottery by hand.

It was amazing and beautiful.

Here is the place for natural dyes.

You can dye on your handkerchief.
Color was very pretty and it is only the one for me!!

People are planning flowers a pot.

Lot of people write their wishes and hang a line.

Here is Daegaya clothes making experience.

I could try to put on clothes.

Here is Daegaya botanical garden.

I have been to many festivals so far.
This festival is the most various events one.

Look at those beautiful flowers.

This is strawberry flower.

The red strawberries are really nice and ripe.

If you want you can go to strawberry farm and pick it up by your hand.

And bring.

That sound exciting isn’t it?

I head for Goryeong downtown after Daegaya festival.

I went Korean traditional market and there was traditional dance festival~
There is a jar in the dancer’s head~ looks very tricky but no one fell down and dance was great!

One of the most famous about Goryeong market is chicken market.

And there are a lot of irons farming tools.

There was a forge actually.

Fish market.

And lots of foods~

This food made by pork skin.

A while ago I tried to bake it and ate.
It was very delicious.

A friend say it contain lots of collagen so it’s good for skin and diet as well.

There was also gayageum contest in 2011.

A sound of gayageum is very special for me.

I have been to many festivals since 2 years ago.

This Goryeong Gaya festival is one of the most exciting one!

The best one was I could have experience what they do, have, eat etc…

Shuttle bus term was very short.

So we didn’t have to wait long.

Everything was pretty well organized.
I thought if there was more international guest it would have been more like international festival.
Maybe next year I bring more my friend~
Let’s go to Gaya festival next year together!!!

Andong Hahoe village. + Byeongsan seowon.

Today I am heading to Hahoe village which is famous for Korean mask festival.
This season is the best time to take a trip among the 4 different seasons.
Maybe little warm weather is better.

This statue is the face of woman. I thought look very special

The side faces of the statue.

There are 150 families in the Hahoe village.

Fresh green sprouts shot up.

This is a house for just watching.

Main gate of Korean style house.

There is dragon pattern tile. It was very detail

There are lots of hall on the paper window. I don’t know what happen???

I guess Korean old house is very beautiful with those rocks.

This street is very peaceful and quite. I really liked this stone wall.

Look at this hanging doll..

Special hat and bag from Andong.

Straw shoes. I tried to wear this shoe. I felt very comfortable.

Korean mask necklace. Some scared smile.

There are many different kinds of mask. Different face; some smile some scared..
My favorite is big smile one!!

The street is thatched-house Street.

Wow~ this house and view was so awesome. The trees and river.. so pretty.

This picture looks like one scene of the movie.

Here is Byeongsan seowon.

At first, this Seowon(a local private school) was located in Pungsan-hyeon, with the name of "Pungak Seodang" for teaching local Confucianists since Goryeo Age. In 1572(5th year of Seonjo) Master Seoae Ryu Seongryong moved it to the present location.

As a leading local school for the memorial of masters and education, many scholars studied here.

Byeongsan Seowon is located in the nature, with buildings like a part of the scenery arount it and this makes Byeongsan Seowon one of beautiful traditional buildings in Korea.

This is the main classroom.

The name of Byeongsan Seowon was from the fact a mountain across Nakdong-gang(a river) from Seowon looks like Byeongpung(a traditional partition).

This is the place where I could think and refresh when I need to think too much about something.

I felt very calm and quite. Also If someone want to know more about Korea and feel from the real experience, do not hesitate to trip to Gyeongbuk Andong!
